Title |
Reactor physics calculations with deterministic methods |
Prerequisites |
Fundamentals of reactor physics, e.g. course 003 |
Goal of the course |
Providing physical and mathematical basis for reactor physics calculations, training in code application |
Content |
The theoretical part explains neutron transport equation and its forms; numerical techniques for solving diffusion and transport equations. In particular, the multigroup method, data libraries, resonance cross-sections and effects; heterogeneity treatment; general scheme of reactor calculations; perturbation theory and kinetics calculations are considered. Training includes generation of macroscopic cross-sections, neutron transport calculations with finite-difference and nodal methods, computation of reactivity coefficients and kinetics parameters. |
